A Calm, Professional Start

You’re welcomed into a private, steady environment that allows your system to settle. This creates the conditions for clear thinking and meaningful progress.

A Clear Biopsychosocial Understanding of Your Symptoms

We begin with a structured exploration of what you’ve been experiencing, physically, mentally, and in the context of your daily life.

This includes:

  • Biological factors such as hormonal shifts, sleep disruption, temperature changes, and cognitive symptoms
  • Psychological factors such as mood changes, overwhelm, identity shifts, and mental load
  • Social factors such as work demands, caregiving roles, relationship pressures, and expectations placed on midlife women

Many women arrive unsure how to describe their symptoms or what they need. Through targeted, clinically informed questioning, the patterns become clear quickly.

You begin to understand not only what is happening but why.

You receive clear, evidence‑based education that explains how hormonal changes interact with stress, sleep, identity, and the invisible load of midlife.

We cover:

  • how fluctuating hormones influence physical and cognitive symptoms
  • how psychological factors can amplify or mask symptoms
  • how social pressures shape your experience and resilience
  • how these three domains interact and why this matters for symptom relief

You’re guided through strategies that many women find helpful across all three domains. These may include lifestyle approaches, nutrition considerations, sleep and stress‑modulation strategies, and information about hormonal and non‑hormonal treatment options that healthcare professionals may discuss with you.

*If You’re Already Using MHT*

It’s common to be on one or more forms of Menopausal Hormone Therapy and still not feel the improvement you expected. This doesn’t mean you’re out of options. Together, we examine what’s happening across the biological, psychological, and social domains and identify what may be useful to raise with your GP or specialist.

PAULA BRADBROOK

Paula Bradbrook founder of Your Menopause Doula Adelaide's coaching clinic for midlife women

Women come to me when they’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or quietly falling apart inside because I’ve been there too. After years of heavy bleeding, adenomyosis, iron deficiency, the complications of faulty Essure coils, and ultimately surgically induced menopause, I spent nearly a decade trapped in perimenopause without answers, only to spend tens of thousands in that decade on medical appointments, labs, imaging, supplements and all the lotions and potions that promise that all failed as it did not solve the root case. The anxiety, rage, despair, and loss of control cost me parts of my identity, my relationships, and my confidence. Perimenopause and post‑menopause are two of the biggest biopsychosocial events in a woman’s life, yet most of us are left to navigate them alone. I know what it feels like to be dismissed, unheard, and told to ‘just get on with it.’ That lived experience is the heartbeat of my work.

In my early 50s, with grandsons to chase and a career still unfolding, I fought my way back. Through lifestyle medicine, evidence-based strategies, and personalised HRT/MHT, I reversed major symptoms, shed the weight that once felt impossible to shift, and reclaimed a version of myself I hadn’t felt in 25 years, energy, clarity, calm, and yes, even the bedroom spark. Today, I’m the one in control of my hormones, not the other way around, and it’s nothing short of life changing. I refuse to accept the long-term health impacts of hormone deprivation that devastated the generations of women before me/us, women who were told to ‘suck it up,’ only to face broken careers, strained relationships, mental health collapse, and preventable chronic disease. This is our opportunity to do it differently. To be proactive. To protect our longevity health. And to stop the cycle of silence and suffering.

As the founder of Your Menopause Doula, I blend professional training with real-world wisdom to offer women a safe, confidential and empowering space to be heard, validated, and supported. I train and collaborate with national and international leaders in menopause and women’s health, including The Menopause School, Harvard Medical School, the International Menopause Society, the Australian Menopause Society, the International Endocrine Society, and world-renowned clinicians shaping the future of midlife care. Whether you’re exploring hormone therapy (or taking but not getting nailing the relief of symptoms.......I can help here too), non-hormonal options, lifestyle changes, career rethinks or simply need someone who truly understands, I’m here to help you know this is not ‘the downward aging spiral’ and your action and investment in your health matters. No woman should navigate this confused, ashamed, or alone. You deserve clarity, confidence, and a plan to get back to yourself or perhaps discover a stronger, more confident version than you’ve ever known.
